The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Da Nang (also known as: Cathedral Church) is the cathedral church of the Diocese of Da Nang in central Vietnam. This is the only church built in Da Nang during the French colonial period.
This church was started in February 1923 on the vacant land of Rue du Musée (now Tran Phu street) designed and built by priest Vallet. The church is one of the works built in a very short time (about 13 months), on March 10, 1924, it was inaugurated and dedicated.
The church is located along Tran Phu Street, about a 15-minute walk from Dragon Bridge. Aside from its impressive Gothic architecture and tranquil setting, the Cathedral is a great place to escape the bustling city center as its tall tower offers stunning views of the city. , Han River and verdant mountains.
As the only church in Danang, it serves the local Catholic community of over 4000 parishioners. Services are held daily in different languages, with English lectures at 9:00 on Sundays. If you want to visit this church and want to attend Mass, be sure to get there early as seats are limited.
