Legend has it that in the 17th century, a wealthy silk merchant from Japan named Araki Sotaro fell in love and married Ngoc Hoa, the adopted daughter of the king of Annam. When she came to Japan, Ngoc Hoa was called Princess Wakaku. This is the oldest love story of Hoi An still handed down to this day. And that is also the name of Wakaku restaurant - one of the high-class restaurants of Hoi An.
Wakaku restaurant is located quite far from the old town to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, in a modest space of about 40 seats, the restaurant is an ideal location for intimate dinners, a banquet cozy treat. The inside of the restaurant is decorated with typical lanterns and handmade bamboo slats to create a Japanese-style space that is both ancient and modern.
