In addition to being famous for bold Indian dishes, Bukhara is also famous for having served extremely famous people around the world such as Mick Jagger, Hillary Clinton, Enrique Iglesias, Vladimir Putin, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, … they even have plates with their names on them.

Recognized as one of the world's best restaurants, Bukhara is named after the ancient city of Bukhara on the Silk Road. Opened since 1977 and located in the ITC Mauriya Hotel, New Delhi. The large restaurant can accommodate 134 diners, divided into several rooms with an open kitchen. Bukhara restaurant serves Northwestern border Tandoori cuisine (present-day Pakistan - Afghanistan border), mainly meats. Here, diners are encouraged to eat with their hands (you can use knives and scissors if you need them).

The restaurant's decor is traditional Indian, surrounded by stone walls, rough hewn dark wood beams, copper vases and red carpet covered with low-height seating. Seating is mostly stools without backrests, not chairs. Polite and enthusiastic staff guide diners.

Bukhara's menu is quite strange because it is written on both sides of a wooden board and does not have an opening like other regular menus. Some dishes to try when visiting Bukhara such as murg tandoori (whole chicken marinated in yogurt, malt vinegar, lemon juice, turmeric, chili, garlic, ginger and hot spice mix), humgh grilled meat sandwiches malai (boneless chicken marinated with cream cheese, malt vinegar and green cilantro) and bharvan kulcha (toast stuffed with cheese), tandoori pomfret. Especially Bukhara's famous dal (black lentils with tomato, ginger and garlic), desserts like Phirni (a hard rice cake flavored with roses and saffron)...
