Alanya Sapadere Gorge is 45km from the city center, about 59 minutes by car. The trail leading to Sapadere Canyon has an impressive and beautiful landscape no less than the canyon that makes you feel like you are going to the heart of the Taurus mountain range. Sapadere Canyon can be reached by private transport rented in Demirtaş town, 15 km from the gorge.
The person who created Sapadere Canyon as it is today is the Governor of Alanya District - Mr. Hulusi Doğan. In 2008, together with the Alanya Forestry Management Board and Sapadere Village Chief, this natural wonder area was renovated, licensed and put into service for tourism. The waterfall and natural pool at the end of the canyon walk is one of the best viewing spots or photography spots.
Along the Alanya Sapadere Gorge, the rows of amazing trees, waterfalls of various shapes and sizes seem to be in a nature exhibit. The air is fresh, the turquoise color spreads on the rocks, the sound of the blue water has a relaxing effect, refreshing the spirit. The most important point is the impressive large waterfall at the end of the gorge. This is a favorite spot for photography lovers, who won't have a chance to take their hands off the shutter button during their exploration of the canyon.
If you are overwhelmed by the heat on summer days, you can dive deep into the natural pool under the waterfall to cool off, but it is worth remembering that the water here is as cold as ice, the temperature varies between 0- 12°C year round. Especially in hot summer days, you will also feel that you are in a very different atmosphere than by the seaside.
At the entrance of the 750 meter long canyon, there is an area where you can easily park your car with an artificial pond, a restaurant, picnic area and souvenir shop. Note, to visit Sapadere gorge you have to pay an entrance fee.
