Profile
Dim Cave is Turkey's second largest cave open to visitors, with a long walkway that runs into the cave, descending 17m below the surface entrance. Just a short distance from Alanya (11 km inland), Dim Cave lies deep in the western slopes of Mount Cebel-i Reis in the Taurus Mountains.
This cave is a natural cave structure, formed by rain and snow water melting into limestone. The limestone water in the cave releases carbon dioxide when the pressure is reduced and deposited. This process takes thousands of years to create stalactites from the ceiling down and stalagmites upwards. The stalactites and stalagmites grow over time and combine to form columns. Tectonics also play an important role in the formation of caves. Through a lot of time, to this day, Dim cave has a perfect beauty. The cave was first opened to visitors in 1998 by a private enterprise.
Dim Cave is one of the most beautiful caves in Turkey. The total length of the cave is 410 meters and a 360-meter section is open to visitors. The lighting system inside makes the stalactites sparkle and is very interesting to see along the way. Colorful lights create a wonderful atmosphere inside the cave. Once inside, you'll see four passages named Pamukkale Hall, Organ Hall, The Hall with Chandelier, and Lake Hall. The temperature inside the cave is 18°C year-round so you may need to bring an extra jacket. One of the most striking is a 200 square meter lake in Dim Cave. You can also see beautiful Alanya and the Taurus Mountains from the viewing area in the cave with binoculars. This is also a great photo spot.
Dim Cave is 145 km from Antalya and 11 km from Alanya, in the town of Kestel. Visitors can reach the cave by car or local bus. The cave is open every day of the week. Ticket price for adults is 18 TL (25,000 VND), children 6-10 years old is 10 TL (15,000 VND). Children under 6 years old have free admission.
