For adventurers and enthusiasts with ancient Roman ruins, Köprülü Canyon is a well-deserved destination.

It is a canyon and a national park in Antalya Province, Turkey, with an area of up to 366 km², established as a national park by the Ministry of Forestry on 12/12/1973.

Köprülü Canyon National Park is about 120km north of Alanya. This garden is famous because it is one of the best places for sightseeing, especially the area for rafting trips, which take place on the clear blue river that winds through the gorge and is the place where the remains many Roman ruins.

Selge is the main Roman archaeological site in the area. The remains of this once flourishing city of 20,000 people lie in the middle of the village of Altınkaya, 11 kilometers northwest of the gorge. The large Roman theatre, which pierces the hillside and looms behind the modern village house is well worth a visit here, although over time part of the theater has been demolished.

In the canyon 400m deep and stretching 14km along the banks of the Köprü river, river activities such as rafting trips are regularly organized by tour companies. The raft trip will take visitors across the most beautiful part of the river, towards the Oluk Bridge built by the Roman Empire in the 2nd century. The gorge is long, deep and has very high walls. If rafting isn't your thing, there are plenty of cafes and places to stop along the riverside where you can stop, relax, and admire the scenery of the canyon. For hikers, the trails that follow the gorge area to the summit of 2,504-meter Mount Bozburun are perfect for a two-hour hike.

Köprülü Canyon National Park is open to visitors free of charge. The best way to travel in this region is to go on a tour, organized by travel agencies. Visitors can also completely catch the bus to get to this place.
