Located in the center of Berlin and adjacent to Berlin Cathedral, the DomAquarée project is a complex that combines an aquarium, a hotel, offices, a 4-star retail pavilion as well as apartments. The project, worth 476 million euros, is considered the largest acrylic aquarium in the world and is a remarkable architectural achievement in Berlin.

In 2004 the DomAquarée complex was redeveloped, and the main system was upgraded.

The most luxurious building in the complex is called AquaDom, the largest free-standing acrylic aquarium in the world (14 meters high and 11 meters in diameter). The AquaDom Aquarium containing nearly 1 million liters of salt water forms the architectural centerpiece of the entire project. The 820 m² roof structure above is a special Texlon structure.
The office and residential complex has a 1,600 m² atrium in the middle of the building. Due to the vegetation planted in the atrium, it provides a park-like atmosphere and thus greatly enhances the green space as well as the office area.

An intricate dome with modern technology covers the Heilig Geist alley between the two main buildings. This is one of the oldest streets in Berlin. This elegant canopy covers the building's railing for natural ventilation – the popular cafes and restaurants below are available year-round. The interconnecting series of domes link together to form a lightweight structural system that increases light output and reduces UV through the system.
