Profile
Everglades National Park is just a short drive from Miami, but is an important habitat protector for many rare or endangered species such as manatees, alligators, and alligators. America, and the Florida panther. It is recognized as a World Heritage Site, International Biosphere Reserve, and Wetland of International Importance and is protected under the Cartagena agreement.
The park covers more than 607,000 hectares (1.5 million acre), a shallow river that flows from land to sea with many species of crocodiles, snakes and other birds. Visitors can visit the park by walking on dirt roads or boardwalks. Going on an airboat tour on the river is a very popular service here because it allows visitors to get up close to wildlife species right in their habitat.
Some other activities include walking through Anhinga Trail; climb to the top of the observation tower at Shark Valley and enjoy the view from above; Cruise through Florida Bay to see alligators, manatees or dolphins; Watch the sunset in South Florida, Flamingo; or explore the mangrove forest, visit the Nike Hercules rocket base. If desired, visitors can also camp for a long time here.
Note: This area has 2 main seasons: Dry season (November - March) and Rainy season (April - November). The dry season is the peak season because the weather is warm, attracting a lot of birds, as well as predators here.
