Park Longchamp marseille - Palais Longchamp

Completed in 1862 by architect Henri Espérandieu - the architect of the Notre Dame de la Garde church, Palais Longchamps is an art product honoring water, praising the canal leading from the Durance River into the city of Marseille. The majestic colonnade running in a semicircle surrounding the outside of a massive fountain with impressive and meticulous sculptural decorations, surrounded by a colorful cotton garden, Palais Longchamps is sure to captivate any who come and admire this unique work of art.

Longchamp Palace is most beautiful at night when the fountain in front is brightly lit. The buildings radiate warm golden light like a big lamp lit on the bustling Longchamp Boulevard. Behind the palace is a spacious park with ancient green trees, smooth stretches of grass, a statue of Lamartine - a 19th-century romantic French poet holding a pamphlet in one hand and resting on his chest in the other. His eyes looked up at the sky full of dreams and worries.
