The Reina Sofía Museum, officially the National Central Museum of Fine Arts Reina Sofía (Spanish for short as MNCARS), is one of the national museums dedicated to contemporary art, with its headquarters located in the capital of Spain, Madrid, which together with the Prado Museum and the nearby Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum of Fine Arts form the Golden Triangle of Madrid's art."

Opened by Queen Sofía in 1986, Centro de Arte de Reina Sofía is Madrid's pioneering center for contemporary art. The sleek modern building was created by architect Antonio Fernández Alba and has features reminiscent of the Center Pompidou in Paris, especially the three glass towers with elevators on the outside of the building. . A great surprise for visitors is the charming courtyard garden filled with imaginative sculptures. In a thorough presentation of contemporary Spanish art, the collection includes notable masterpieces such as works by Juan Miró, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí. The artworks are displayed in different rooms spread over the 39,000 square meter exhibition space. The museum also has a bookstore, cafeteria and restaurant.

Opening hours: This museum is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 21:00 and Sundays from 10:00 to 14:30
