Kien Giang Museum is located at 27 Nguyen Van Troi, Vinh Thanh Van Ward, Rach Gia City. With its central city location, the museum is very convenient for visitors to stop by during their journey to explore Kien Giang.

Kien Giang Museum was established in 1985, utilizing the old house of landowner Tran Nhue, built in 1911, as its headquarters. The museum building features classic French architecture, with red tile roof, large columns, and intricate details, blending elegance with the mood of time.

In 1990, this house was recognized as a National Architectural and Artistic Relic. This old house, also known as "Mr. Ba Chieu's House," is over a hundred years old and plays an important part in the museum's activities.

The house spans about 2,000m² and was built with special materials such as molasses, cashew tree resin, sand, lime, and precious wood like ironwood, rosewood, and xylia xylocarpa. The floor tiles were imported from France. The construction was carried out by 100 skilled workers from Gia Dinh and Hue, taking many years to complete, with the woodwork alone requiring 7 years and the house foundation taking 3 years.
