Museum of Cham Sculpture

The idea of building a museum for Cham sculptures in Da Nang began in 1902 with a project by Henri Parmentier, dean of EFEO's archeology department. (École Française d'Extrême-Orient) The construction of the first building was carried out according to the design of two French architects, Delaval and Auclair, with the advice of Parmentier on the inclusion of certain lines. of Cham architecture; This work was started by the ancient Far Eastern School (EFEO) from 1915-6 to 1919, it was completed and inaugurated with 160 sculptural antiques This day, after many times of expansion, repair, but complete and stylish The original architecture of the Museum remains the same.

Currently, the Museum of Cham Sculpture is exhibiting about 500 works and is arranged in rooms corresponding to the geographical area where they were discovered, including My Son, Tra Kieu, Dong Duong, Thap Ma and other buildings. The museum has an electronic narration service with 3 languages Vietnamese - English - French.

With groups of 5 or more people, you can hire a tour guide to speak in languages: Vietnamese, English, and French from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 14:00 to 17:00 daily.

Groups with accompanying guides or requesting instructions in English and French must contact us at least 03 days in advance.
