Profile
If you walk along Tran Phu Street in the morning, Sailing Club may look like a relaxing beachfront retreat. But after dark, the same space shifts into a completely different rhythm, with music and parties right by the sea.
What makes the story even more interesting is that it began in 1994, when the venue was still just a rustic bar on Nha Trang Beach.
1. Where Did Sailing Club Begin?
The story of Sailing Club is closely connected with Peter Vidotto, an Australian who arrived in Vietnam in 1992.
Two years later, Sailing Club was established in Nha Trang. According to information from Sailing Club Divers, the original venue was simply a small bar on the beach. Over time, it developed into the Sailing Club Nha Trang you see today.
So, when you sit here, you are spending time at a venue that has been part of Nha Trang’s beachfront for more than three decades.
2. Why Does the Atmosphere Change Throughout the Day?
One of Sailing Club’s distinctive features is the way its space transforms depending on the time of day.
During the day, the focus is more on beachfront dining and relaxation. You can settle into a beanbag, enjoy the beach area, or have a meal while looking out over Nha Trang Bay.
After dark, the atmosphere changes. Sailing Club becomes a nightlife destination with music and entertainment by the sea.
It is the same location, but the experience in the morning can feel very different from the one you encounter at night.
3. The Sea Is Only a Few Steps Away
Sailing Club sits directly on Nha Trang Beach rather than across Tran Phu Street like many of the hotels and restaurants in the area.
This detail shapes much of the experience.
From the dining area and bar, you can step directly onto the sand. Sun loungers and beanbags are also arranged close to the shoreline.
Here, the sea is not simply a view in the distance. It becomes an immediate part of the setting.
4. One Venue, Several Culinary Styles
The menu at Sailing Club does not focus on just one cuisine.
According to its official information, the venue serves Vietnamese dishes alongside Mediterranean, Indian, and Western-inspired options.
This reflects how Sailing Club has developed over the years as a destination for both local residents and international visitors.
You can come here for a meal, relax by the sea, or simply stop for a break while walking along Tran Phu Street.
5. When Nha Trang Lights Up
If daytime at Sailing Club is associated with the sea and sun loungers, the evening brings its entertainment side more clearly into focus.
Friday and Saturday nights are particularly associated with beachfront party activities. On certain occasions, the venue also features DJs, live music, and fire performances.
This is why Sailing Club can present two very different sides.
In the morning, there is the sound of the waves and the beach directly in front of you.
At night, in exactly the same place, music becomes part of the experience.
And that transformation between day and night has evolved from a small beach bar established in 1994 into Sailing Club Nha Trang more than three decades later.
