Profile
Various activities are held during the festival including rickshaw rides, Phuket Baba light show, cultural parades, Chinese folk dances and free boat rides along the canals in the center of the island. You'll also get the chance to see colorful performances such as the Chinese dragon dance at Queen Sirikit Park, located along New Dibuk Road and lots of interesting attractions.
One of the best things about the Phuket Old Town Festival is the chance to taste authentic street food. The streets are filled with food stalls, crowded with pedestrians, you can find almost any kind of Thai street food at very cheap prices.
In addition, the festival also organizes street parades, live music shows, unique traditional costumes and promotional programs.
The 4 main streets of the Old Quarter have their own themes. Like the festival in 2016, Thalang Street talks about "stories of the past", Krabi Street focuses on "story of the present", Phang Nga Street talks about "stories of the future" and the other way around. Dibuk introduces clothing and food from the Thai Peranakan Association.
Activities usually start around 3pm and last until midnight during the festival.
