"Buu Long Pagoda is one of the famous destinations in District 9 of Ho Chi Minh City, about 20km from the city center. The temple's official name is Buu Long Zen Monastery. The temple is located on the hill to the west Dong Nai River

Buu Long Pagoda is also known as Xa Loi Pagoda because it has many relics of Buddha and saints. The pagoda was built in 1942, in 2007 it was restored and built more. Buu Long Pagoda is a typical architectural work for the harmonious combination of Thai and Indian culture with the style of the Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945) in Vietnam.

In general, Buu Long Pagoda consists of two main areas: the main hall and the surrounding campus. The pagoda was built entirely according to the design of the abbot Thich Vien Minh. One of the highlights of Buu Long Pagoda is the largest main stupa in Vietnam with a height of 56m and four surrounding towers. This work is built in the style of Thai temples with brilliant white and gold colors.

Located in the suburban district of Saigon, the first impression when coming to Buu Long Pagoda is the very large space and pure atmosphere. In the temple premises, there is a place to rest and a vegetarian restaurant, you can try vegetarian spring roll vermicelli with an affordable price of 20,000 VND a plate. Because it is located in the middle of natural forests, the temple is in harmony with the surrounding trees. Many people choose this place as a destination to meditate, or simply admire the peaceful scenery, helping them temporarily forget about the hustle and bustle of life.

Dubbed the pagoda without smoke, visitors to Buu Long only worship and pray, not burn incense in the temple like in other temples. The temple has an architecture quite similar to the Golden Temple architecture in Thailand, so the locals around call it Thai temple. However, Vietnamese culture is still bold in every corner from carved motifs to majestic dragon statues.

The pagoda is always quiet with the sound of the wind on the top of the tower and the sound of water flowing from the lake in the main temple premises. Therefore, you should pay attention to soft talk and keep the general order when visiting this place. In particular, visitors can go upstairs to enjoy the panoramic view of the pagoda but must comply with the dress code, do not wear shorts, short skirts. A day to calm down and relax your soul is not enough, but it will help you to balance in today's chaotic life.
