Colaba Causeway Market

Colaba Causeway is Mumbai's iconic shopping street, famous for its fashion accessories, clothing, antiques and footwear. This street is a short distance from the Fort, which is Mumbai's main business hub.

The official name of the Colaba Causeway is Shaheed Bhagat Singh Road and it is a combination of Colaba and Grandma Island. The whole street is filled with old colonial buildings and has a charm of its own.

Colaba Causeway is filled with budget to high-end shoppers, shoppers who prefer to wear designer brands or buy stuff from high-fashion boutiques. The stalls on the sidewalk have everything from accessories, shoes, sunglasses, clothes to books. One can find antique home decor at bargain prices here.

Among the street fashion stores and designer boutiques, the ones mentioned below are well worth a visit:

- Curio Cottage: This pretty little shop is located behind the Regal cinema and is well worth a visit or buying beautiful trinkets. Apart from the pre-made ones, one can also get jewelry made according to their taste. They also have an inventory of diamonds and gold bars that are perfect for the holidays.

- Le Mill: This boutique is located in the same building (Pheroze Building) as Indigo Deli and is a treasure trove for designer clothing lovers. The store spans a total area of more than 370sqm and their collections range from international brands such as Valentino, Chloe, Saint Laurent, Balmain and Jacquemus as well as Indian contemporaries such as Bodice, DeMuro Das , Design Temple,... The shop has quite a long history as it was converted and designed from an ancient rice mill that was converted into a shipping warehouse before the division of India and Pakistan. The store was founded by French founders, Cecilia Morelli and Julie Leymarie, who chose to settle in Mumbai for their love of fashion.

- Parvati Mansion: It offers both designer jewelry and Indian national dress. The jewelry designs are mostly carefully placed fusion pieces, and they come in gold, silver, and bronze. The store is directly opposite the Bata store on the Colaba Causeway.

A famous place in Colaba market is Leopold cafe, made famous by author Gregory David Roberts in his bestselling novel 'Shantaram' and later in the infamous 11/26 terrorist attacks where the shop Coffee is one of the places targeted by terrorists.
