Held at the 2,000-seat Ratchada Theater, the Siam Niramit performance boasts a 11.95 meter high stage - once certified by the Guinness World Records as the tallest stage in the world.
Taking up more than half of the entire theater's space, the Ratchada Theater stage was built to showcase the show's epic repertoire and a troupe including real elephants and goats, recreating the real atmosphere of the show. Thailand hundreds of years ago.
The program is divided into 3 sections: Journey back in history, Journey beyond imagination, Three Realms and journey through joyful festivals.
Opening with the performance "Journey against the flow of history", the lights will suddenly dim, the heart-pounding beat of the victory drum (klong sabatchai) spills over the dark stage, followed by a golden nail dance and graceful sword dance. Next, the entire stage was lit up and reawakened to the scene of the ancient Kingdom of Lanna. A slow but elegant royal procession was led by King and Queen Lanna, the first of the Siamese dynasty.
The next scene, the audience was taken to the south of Thailand, which was more exciting with the bustling trading scene of traders from abroad. Opening with a lively shadow puppet show (nang talung) and a colorful nora dance, the scene is a re-enactment of the bustling market of Sriwichai Kingdom crammed with foreign merchants. This scene is meant to show the harmonious existence of different religions and races.
The next 2 scenes are the Northeast Region - the legacy of Khmer civilization and the Central Plains of Ayutthaya - the mighty capital which is wonderfully portrayed with modern special effects such as the Klong river on the stage, rain and thunder. Spectators also get to witness local festival activities such as bamboo dancing ram (lao krathop mai), rice harvest folk songs and Thai boxing matches in these scenes.
With the interesting title "Journey beyond imagination", the second act begins with hell, a burning hell where sinners are being punished with various torture methods. Following hell is the mystical Himmapan forest, the gateway between heaven and earth, the abode of mythical creatures.
The second performance ended with the scene of Happy Paradise, where the 4-faced god Indra and the angels lived. Wrapped in a surreal haze, this captivating scene exudes a show-stopping quality as the camera angles beam across the stage. The glittering, shimmering glitter made it one of the show's most enchanting moments.
Siam Niramit aptly concludes with the last memorable performance, "Journey through joyful festivals", a harmonious combination of festivals of the four regions such as the monk ordination ceremony, the Festival light (Loy Krathong).
