Mikkeller Bar Seoul
“With a simple and distinct Scandinavian design, combined with Korean features, Mikkeller Bar Seoul joins a growing global brand that specializes in craft beers from over 30 countries worldwide. gender"
Founded by high school teacher Mikkel Borg Bjergsø and journalist Kristian Klarup Keller in 2006 after the couple went on a craft beer tour in the US during their honeymoon and became enamored with the stylish bar. beautiful, luxurious in San Francisco. When they returned to Seoul, it was only a matter of time before the couple decided to open a Mikkeller Bar of their own. In a quiet back alley in Garuso Street, Mikkeller painted the mascots Henry and Sally to politely greet passersby. In a country where the craft beer scene is rapidly emerging but the variety of beer styles is still lacking, Mikkeller Bar Seoul is a breath of fresh air for many.
Known for "gypsy brewing", a low-cost outsourcing and experimental brewing, once, the original Danish brand "Mikkeller" was more popular than they had anticipated. Their desire to "challenge beer connoisseurs with intense new tastes," is reflected in their colorful blackboard menu that changes daily and menus that dozens of fans have curated. The beers here are served in wine glasses and have witty titles such as “Henry Jagger”, “Orange Yuzu Glad Said I Was Porter” and “Taedonggang”, alluding to queues waiting to be opened on June 27. What former Economy journalist Daniel Tudor once said about North Korean beer: “Korean beer isn't good… and North Korean Taedonggang Beer… is surprisingly good.” Mikkeller's Taedonggang, is a classic pale ale with Light and fresh finish.
All beers poured at the bar are strictly “cold chained” from the brewery to the bar. Cold chained means the beer has been kept cold during transit, which works wonders for most styles of beer and ensures the freshest quality when the beer is served. Watch out when the bar has a "Spontan" range of beer for those who like the hard-to-find sour taste of beer.
In addition, Mikkeller Bar Seoul also serves food to sip on with beer, from traditional Korean snacks to cheese and pies that are beautifully decorated and taste great.
