Since opening in 2009, the Brandhorst Museum has quickly become one of Germany's leading contemporary art museums, displaying some of Europe's largest collections of works by Cy Twombly and Andy Warhol.
Beginning in the 1970s onward, Udo Brandhorst and his wife Anette amassed more than 1,000 works by artists from the 20th and 21st centuries, mainly pictures, paintings and reliefs, and sculptures. and multimedia works. With more than 100 works by Andy Warhol (1928-1987), there is hardly any European collection that can hold the works of famous Pop Art artists as much as in Brandhorst.
