Traditional hand puppetry originated in Fujian, a province of China in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. In the 50's, to attract more audience, puppeteers in Taiwan decided to create puppets in large sizes and add modern music, lighting and special effects in the show. performances. It's called the Golden Light Puppet. TV Hand Puppet is a new type of puppetry that started appearing on TV in the 70's. These puppets are larger, more gorgeous, and more delicate. This art form has become very popular among the younger generation in Taiwan.
