This mountain has an area of about 250,000 square meters, including tropical forests, and is home to many rare and precious wildlife named in the world's red book such as the lizard Cyrtodactylus takouensis, the black-footed langur; limestone caves and Buddhist structures.

Legend has it that in 1872, monk - physician Tran Huu Duc (legal name Thong An) went to Ta Cu mountain to practice in a cave that today is called Hang To. Later, he led a group of Buddhist followers to build a temple and practice there until his death.

In the third year of Tu Duc, the Queen Mother was seriously ill, although she was invited by the King to return to the court to take her pulse and take medicine for the Queen Mother, the monk Tran Huu Duc decided not to go, but only sent someone to replace him. Hoang Thai Hau recovered from his illness after taking his medicine, so the king gave the temple the name Linh Son Truong Tho. Later, people built a new temple at the bottom called Under Pagoda or Long Doan Pagoda.
