Greenwich Pier is located on the south bank of the River Thames in Greenwich, London. It was built in 1836, to accommodate the many paddle steamers that took tourists on day trips to Greenwich from London further up the river. At that time, London's urban area did not extend as far as Greenwich.
The pier is now owned by London River Services and is used by many river operators, operating public travel services to and from Central London. It's located right next to Cutty Sark and within easy walking distance of many other popular attractions. It was refurbished in 2004, and again in March 2018.
