The name of the noodle shop is written in English on the sign. To enter the restaurant you need to buy a ticket from the machine in front of the door.
Kasumi Ramen is one of the most famous ramen shops in Osaka. The ramen here is perfect for a quick lunch followed by a stroll in nearby Utsubo-koen Park to cut down on calories. During rush hour you can see a long line of locals waiting, but as with most ramen shops, eating is quick so you don't have to wait long. At Kasumi, you should try niboshi ramen, a broth. Simple but flavorful sardines seasoned with a generous amount of lard. (This assumes, of course, that you like sardines!) Although this surf soup is relatively thin - lard doesn't seem to make it too greasy - it pairs beautifully with the thick noodles. Or try the mazesoba - a super flavorful ramen-spaghetti combo. Don't forget to serve it with ramen eggs. If just noodles isn't enough for you, try adding an egg and extra pork or order a bowl of pork rice to go with it. It may sound strange to pair two carbohydrates - rice and noodles - together, but give it a try and you'll probably be very pleased.
