Beside Feldherrnhalle are the two striking yellow towers of Theatinekirche (Theatine Church) standing at a height of 66 meters. This 17th-century Catholic church was built by a Bavarian aristocrat in honor of the birth of an heir that everyone looked forward to day and night – Crown Prince and later Elector Max Emanuel in 1662 .
Italian architect, Agostino Barelli designed the church with a touch of the Mediterranean through the High Baroque style. Step through the Rococo yellow to go inside the church to admire the elaborate, meticulous and extremely beautiful design of the church's interior design. With a 71-meter-high dome and stucco walls sculpted like floating art paintings, everyone has to admire.
The high altar features a large painting depicting Mary by the famous painter Gaspar de Witte, known for his beautiful landscape and gallery paintings. In addition, of the three main organ of the choir room behind the high altar, there is one built in 1960 by Ludwig Eisenbarth, the famous organist who made the largest organ in Europe.
