The 250-year-old oak road is famous for its ancient and magical beauty in County Antrim in Northern Ireland. The forest is where the impressive scenes in the movie Game of Thrones were made.

The Dark Hedges is an oak grove that weaves together a road in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The trees were planted in the 18th century by the Stuart family, who owned the nearby Gracehill House. Trees were planted along the road to welcome guests into the family's home.
Dark Hedges has since grown into a unique and iconic forest for the entire region. With branches twisting to form a deep tunnel in the air, this half-mile-long avenue of oak trees has become one of Northern Ireland's most photographed natural wonders.
The trees are said to be about 250 years old, and over the years the branches and trunks twist and entwine tunnels and when the sunlight penetrates it creates a mysterious combination of light and shadow. That makes Dark Hedges a popular spot for photographers and nature lovers alike.
The Dark Hedges has also appeared in a number of movies and TV shows, including HBO's acclaimed Game of Thrones series. In the Game of Thrones series, Game of Thrones, the Dark Hedges are used as the location for King's Road.
In recent years, there has been concern about the preservation of the Dark Hedges path. The tree is susceptible to storms and high winds that break branches and trunks. In addition, the increasing number of visitors has caused damage to the tree roots and the surrounding area.
To help preserve the Dark Hedges, a conservation project was launched in 2016, including planting new oak trees and building a tourist center there.
