Offering you a “farm to table” dining experience Cascina Cuccagna is an 18th-century house and farmhouse set among post-war buildings in the Porta Romana district. Today, it's a simple eatery with a focus on locally sourced ingredients, plus a cooking school, a florist and a bicycle repair shop. The restaurant is open from 10 am to 1 pm.

This Cascina, located a few blocks from Porta Romana of jasmine, has been owned by the Fatebenefratelli Fathers since 1695, who have grown medicinal herbs for Ospedale Maggiore in these lands (more than 1500 square meters in the garden).

In 1800, it moved into possession of two large grocery stores in the city, who used the structure as a living and productive space. In the early 20th century it was the residence of artisans and merchants hence an inn was opened inside it. This mark is still visible to this day.

Since 1984, the farm has been owned as public property by the city which in the 1990s declared it unfit for use, handing it over to residents and businesses.

Today Cascina Cuccagna is a veritable center of culture and synthesis, a rural oasis in the heart of the city.

Here community activities are held regularly: from yoga to meditation, cooking, tango dancing, etc. Every day many activities to be together and learn something new.

Every Tuesday, from 15:30 to 20:00, you can instead go to Cascina to shop directly from the farmers: a variety of organic products, breads, fruits, meats and more.
