The Helbled house is a great contrast between the gothic old town, right from the heart of the old town itself! The building is instantly recognizable as it is the only complex Baroque building and is surrounded by medieval buildings. This building was also the pinnacle of trendy architecture in the 18th century. In 1730, Anton Gigl Architects elaborately decorated the building's façade. Acanthus leaves, fruit garlands, seashells, putti, masks and more adorn the walls, windows and Baroque gables all the way to the fourth floor.
Colorful townhouses are part of the beautiful Assamble neighborhood in Innsbruck's old town. The Helbledhaus is particularly attractive and striking, right next to Innsbruck's most visited attraction - the golden roof. The former owner, Sebastian Helblings, ran a cafe in Helblinghaus during the 19th century. Today, the Helbledhaus is home to several Innsbruck families and is not open to tours. But admiring and taking pictures of the building's eye-catching facade is enough to satisfy tourists from all over the world. Pay special attention to textures with rich decorations: leaves, shells, putti, masks, fruits and more!
Note: not open to visitors, only take pictures of the facade from the outside.
