Van Long is nicknamed "the bay without waves" because the water surface is as calm as a giant mirror reflecting the majestic mountains and clouds. This nature reserve has thousands of caves, each cave has its own legend and story, stimulating the curiosity and discovery of tourists.
Exploring Van Long by traditional sampan boat, you can clearly see the rough lines on the cliff from the top to the foot of the mountain that look like tracks left by a cat's claws. This cliff is recorded in the Vietnamese record book as "the largest natural stone block". Cua Chua Mountain in Van Long is where explorers and researchers have discovered centuries-old drawings. On the cliffs of Cua Chua, scientists have discovered very special drawings. Usually, they are not very obvious, but when you pour water over them, you will see drawings of human activities and hieroglyphs. It's a conundrum that archaeologists are trying to solve.
Van Long is definitely a great place for those who have a true love of nature. The flora and fauna in Van Long represent the ecosystem of limestone mountains and wetlands in the Red River Delta. It has 39 animal species and 722 plant species, many of which are listed in the Red Book as endangered. Especially this is home to hundreds of species of birds. When sunset falls, the sight of flocks of birds flocking to the swamps and rice fields to find food creates an endless source of creative inspiration for photographers. But the real "star" of Van Long is the Delacour langur, one of the most endangered primates in the world. There are about 40 langurs living here, if you are lucky, you can see them moving skillfully on the branches with your eyes while relaxing on the boat to explore Van Long.
Van Long is currently considered as one of the most favorite eco-tourism destinations of domestic and foreign tourists.
