For that reason, the local people decided to build a temple to worship Xa Cong in the New Territories area in the hope that he would appear to help people overcome this tribulation. And the epidemic subsided on the day the temple was completed at the end of the Ming Dynasty. Since that time, Xa Cong plays a very important role in the religious life of local people.
