"Gaudí designed this single-family home in the early 20th century and incorporated his signature features into the design, including arcs and colorful blocks."

Casa Batlló is another of Gaudí's masterpieces, one of only two private houses now open as museums. The modernist façade is decorated with oval windows, tubular columns and clad with colorful pieces of crockery. The inside of the house has been restored to its original condition with an interior fireplace, dome and stained glass. The house is located in Eixample, the land just north of the city center.

Casa Batlló was built between 1904 and 1906 for a wealthy nobleman and his family. The house was opened to the public in 2002 after many years of restoration and is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. There is no furniture but the rooms are kept as they were when the Batlló family was there.

Stand on the street to admire the facade of the house. The surreal design and bright blue blocks recall the calmness of the ocean. True to Gaudí's style, there are absolutely no straight lines. Colorful roof simulates cactus.

The house is a popular attraction and there are always long lines of visitors waiting to enter and explore the house all year round.
