MBK is probably Bangkok's most popular shopping mall, with both tourists and locals alike, it's packed with shoppers every day. There are 8 floors with 2,000 stores selling everything from clothing, fashion accessories, bags, leather products and luggage to furniture, mobile phones, electrical appliances, cameras, stationery and DVDs .
Opened in 1986, MBK Center is a commercial complex that is always active, especially on weekends, when half of Bangkok converges here to shop for branded goods. It's not as luxurious or stylish as the glitzy Siam Discovery, Siam Center or Siam Paragon, but it offers a diverse array of items, spread across 89,000 square feet, and significantly better prices.
On the ground floor of MBK, you will find stalls selling fashion, shoes, bags, fast food stores and supermarkets with open spaces dedicated to discounts from 30% to 50%. Part of the fun of coming to MBK is exploring the long straight lines to find the things you love. According to the guide, fashion is mainly on the lower floors, a wide range of electronics is on the 3rd and 4th floors, and home furniture and souvenirs are on the 5th and 6th floors.
Like every shopping complex in Bangkok, MBK also caters to all your dining needs. There are 2 food courts - a local one on the 6th floor and an international one on the 5th floor - with lots of choices. The top floor includes an entertainment complex with a multi-screen cinema, karaoke, computer video games and many other restaurants. MBK also has a 3D Art Museum, which is a fun activity that is ideal for a family day out.
MBK Center is open every day of the week from 10:00-22:00
