Open Wineries Day

This wine-tasting event has become an integral day of Geneva's calendar, officially starting in 1987. Swiss wine growers and independent wineries are the pioneers of the festival. this.

On the third or last week of May, nearly all (90 or so) of Geneva's wineries will open their doors to locals and visitors from far and wide to present the wines of the season. harvested from the previous year, including new vintages or matured wines of past vintages for everyone to enjoy.

Geneva is Switzerland's third-largest vineyard and wine-producing canton, particularly fortunate geographically with three specific regions bordering it. Traditionally, the Mandement region is the most visited area, however in recent years the number of people participating in Open Day has also increased in the “Entre Arve et Rhône” region (namely in Lully, Bernex, Soral, etc.) and the “Arve et Lac” region (namely in Jussy, Anières, Gy, etc.).

Open Wineries Day is also an ideal opportunity for a scenic walk through the Geneva countryside, walking or cycling from village to village and exploring the three wine-producing regions, each with their own its own special charm.

To ease travel around the Geneva countryside, the organizers of Open Wineries Day have worked closely with TPG (Geneva Public Transport) and the free shuttle service will provide an easy way to get around. travel between villages.

Departure point: from Genoa-Cornavin Station (can take train or bus). Every 5-10 minutes, there will be a shuttle bus or train departing from the train station.
