When you're tired of museums, crowds and shopping, a park is a place where you can find tranquility. One of the most beautiful is Parco Sempione, between the castle and Porta Sempione, which spans 116 acres and is home to an aquarium, a sports stadium and a medieval castle. Many of the city's best attractions, like the Palazzo dell TruongArte, are located in Parco Sempione.

When one thinks of Sempione Park, one thinks of the 19th century, from Napoleon to the arrangement of the famous Beruto plan (the first city regulation plan), but this cool garden in the heart of Milan, connected to Castell Sforzesco -Arco Della Pace perspective axis with the softness of the side gardens, it is a mine of 20th century architecture.

The two most monumental are of course the Palazzo dell'Arte by Giovanni Muzio, known as the Triennale, and the nearby Torre Branca, by Gio Ponti, then born Torre Littoria, both from the early centuries 1930s and among the absolute best examples of rationalist architecture.

A few meters away, towards Piazza Cadorna is the house of Ignazio Gardella built from 1947-1950 overlooking the park as a gem of the first post-war period. On the opposite side of the Castle is the small decorative building of the Municipal Aquarium, one of the oldest in Europe, born in Locati's project in 1906 during the international exhibition in Milan.

A few steps outside the park, towards Brera is the Small Strehler theatre, designed in the late 70s by Zanuso and Crescini and built in the late 20th century. Finally, hidden in the heart of the park museum, the Parco Sempione Library, an Ico Parisi work from the 1950s, and two monuments-public spaces worth a visit: Arman's "Music Collection", 73 with a sculpted concrete staircase semicircle .
