Overview

A forest-scented journey into Vietnam’s highland soul - where every tree, every bean, and every farmer has a story worth listening to.

The Central Highlands are often called the “green crown of Vietnam” - misty mornings, red basalt soil, ancient forests, and coffee trees growing under the protective shade of taller timber.
But behind this landscape lies a delicate balance. Coffee farmers face unpredictable rainfall, soil erosion, and shrinking forests. This tour is more than sightseeing - it’s an invitation into a farmer’s world: their worries, traditions, laughter, and their quiet determination to keep the land alive.
Here, travelers don't just drink coffee.
They walk its story, touch its roots, and plant its future.

Program schedule

🕚 08:00 - Pick-up at hotel & drive into the highlands
🌲 As the vehicle leaves the city, concrete slowly melts into rolling hills, pine forests, and coffee plantations stretching toward the horizon.
Your guide explains how Vietnam became the world’s second-largest coffee producer - but also why smallholder families are now shifting toward more sustainable, shade-grown models.

🕚 09:00 - Highland coffee farm walk (storytelling by the farmer)
🌿 You’re welcomed into a family-run farm where generations have lived alongside their coffee trees.
🚶  Walking with the farmer beneath tall shade trees, you learn:
🔸 how each tree is grafted, nurtured, protected
🔸 the meaning of red soil and why it matters
🔸 how roots prevent erosion after storms
🔸 what happens when rains fail or come too strong
🌺 You pick ripe cherries, feeling the warmth of the sun on the fruit - a simple moment that many travelers describe as unexpectedly emotional.

🕚 10:15 - Traditional Coffee Processing Workshop
🏞️ Under a wooden roof scented with fresh beans, you experience each stage:
🔹 hand-washing cherries in mountain spring water
🔹 sun-drying on woven bamboo trays
🔹 roasting over a clay stove with rhythmic arm motions
🔹 grinding by hand using a stone mortar
          🔹 brewing slow-drip phin coffee
☕ The farmer encourages you to taste with intention - smell the earth, the fire, the patience.

🕚 11:45 - Farm-to-Table Highlands Lunch
🍽️ Served in a family courtyard or under jackfruit trees. Typical menu includes:
          🥢 lemongrass chicken or tofu
          🥢 mountain-grown greens
          🥢 wild herbs
          🥢 sticky rice
          🥢 seasonal fruit
👨‍👩‍👧 Stories flow naturally during lunch - storms survived, harvest rituals, the pride of raising children on traditional land.

🕚 13:00 - Tree Planting Ritual (Reforestation Activity)
🚶‍♀️  You walk to a plot where young shade trees are being introduced to restore biodiversity.
🌱 Each traveler plants a sapling, guided by eco-volunteers.
🌍 The farmer marks each tree with coordinates so the community can send photos of its growth.
♻️ Planting is symbolic - a gesture of hope, resilience, and partnership with nature.

🕚 14:30 - Coffee Tasting & Farewell
☕ You enjoy 2-3 varieties of highland coffee while overlooking the hills.

🕚 16:00 - Return to Hotel
