Day 1: Hanoi – Son La
Embark on this 6-day adventure with an early morning departure from Hanoi, heading towards Son La. The journey begins in the flat terrain of the Red River Delta, gradually giving way to the stunning limestone karst mountains. Arrive in Son La by late afternoon, where you’ll have the rest of the day to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. Overnight in Son La.

Day 2: Son La – Muong Phang – Dien Bien Phu
After breakfast, set out for Dien Bien Phu, stopping en route at the historic Son La Prison, built by the French in 1908 to imprison anti-colonialist Vietnamese. Continue your journey to Muong Phang, located 35 km outside Dien Bien Phu, where a local lunch awaits. Visit the headquarters of General Giap, nestled within dense jungle and lined with tunnels used during the Battle of Dien Bien Phu. Transfer to Dien Bien Phu City in the evening. Overnight in Dien Bien Phu.

Day 3: Dien Bien Phu – City Tour
Begin your day with a visit to the Dien Bien Phu Museum, followed by a tour of ‘A1 Hill,’ a key site of intense fighting during the 1954 battle. Explore the Muong Thanh Airbase and the surrounding battlefield area before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Men Hamlet, where you can interact with the Thai ethnic people. Overnight in Dien Bien Phu.
Day 4: Dien Bien Phu – Sapa
Depart for Sapa, one of the most scenic drives of the trip, passing through fertile valleys and towering mountains. Along the way, visit local markets (if on market day) or ethnic minority villages to learn about their daily life. Arrive in Sapa in the late afternoon. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 5: Sapa
Start your day with a guided trek to explore the lesser-known areas outside of Sapa town. Transfer to Ban Khoang Valley, where you’ll be captivated by the breathtaking views of the Hoang Lien Mountain Range, also known as The Tonkinese Alps. Visit Lu Khau Village, home to Blue Hmong and Red Zao communities, and immerse yourself in their vibrant culture. After a local lunch in Ta Giang Phinh Valley, take a leisurely walk through the charming valley, observing villagers working in the fields. Return to Sapa town in the afternoon. Overnight in Sapa.
Note: Appropriate footwear is required for trekking. Programs may change if conditions are wet.
Day 6: Sapa – Hanoi
Enjoy a leisurely morning in Sapa to explore the town or take a cable car ride to the summit of Mt Fansipan, the highest mountain in Indochina (surcharge applies). Check out from your hotel by noon and begin the scenic drive back to Hanoi.
