Overview

To begin our 2-day trip, we’ll pick you up in Rovaniemi and will drive you up North to Ivalo and Saariselkä. On the way to explore Lappish nature and Sami culture in Inari, we will have a short stop in Saariselkä, where you can experience hiking in beautiful Finnish forests and chasing well known Northern Lights! Spend a night in a traditional wooden cabin surrounded with trees and complete silence. After that, we will go to learn more about indigenous Finno-Ugric people, known around the world as Sami!

Program schedule

Day 1 : Saariselkä

Take the chance to visit Saariselkä, once an important enclave for gold mining, is today a beautiful refuge of civilization between two of the wildest natural parks in Europe. It offers a multitude of outdoor activities and houses an enviable ski resort.
Once we will arrive there, join the tour to try authentic way to go through powdery fresh snow. The snowshoes are the best for hiking in Kaunispää on rolling to steep hills. The expert guide will show you how to put them on and lead you to the deep Arctic forest. Even for little kids and for non-sporting people it is a joyful winter experience.
Embark on an unforgettable hiking and snowshoeing journey into the forest in the Arctic Circle, where you will pass through frozen rapids and follow amazing nature trails between woods. Also, a forest campfire BBQ will be provided with warm tea.

More than that, you will have an opportunity to experience the longest toboggan ride in Saariselkä.

Day 2 : Inari

Today we will travel to the capital Sami, Inari. One of the northernmost points of Finland is home to the Sami culture, the last indigenous people in Europe. Despite preserving their traditional way of life, based on reindeer husbandry, they are a modern and hospitable townIn Inari we will visit the impressive Sami museum.
