The center was founded on a 19th-century farmhouse, where in the summer visitors can experience the culinary traditions of Siciy. Here, guests can take hands-on cooking courses right in the kitchen. Guests can also spend the night at the Anna Tasca Lanza center to explore their surroundings with culinary fusion excursions designed by Anna Tasca Lanza's experts. Tomato paste making course
The heat of August brings with it the sweet flavors of Sicilian tomatoes. In this course, we'll share the common Sicilian recipe - extracts (tomato paste) along with other products like salsa pronto, sun-dried tomatoes and raisins. If you're interested in taking a traditional hands-on course, this is a compelling opportunity.
The course discovers the power of flour
Take a week-long course to discover all the secrets of wheat-based Sicilian cuisine. We'll experiment with all sorts of doughs and start from the traditional round loaves to Sicilian focaccia loaves and macaroni. This course is for everyone including children.
Sketching and Drawing Course with Samantha Dion Baker
During this week-long course, Anna Tasco Lanza center will work closely to help visitors establish and/or develop creative ideas and practice sketching. The course begins with getting to know each other, learning about artistic backgrounds and sharing life goals. Guests will then move on to basic drawing exercises useful for all levels. Drawing contours, contouring shadows, practicing ellipses and lines are some of the exercises that will be practiced. It will then discuss the endless ways in which people can capture dreams, memories, everyday mundane things, and extraordinary moments. At the end of each day, visitors will share and talk about their own pride and desires. This course is an opportunity to build a practice that can transform your day, with delicious food and the most dazzling setting, this is a much-awaited experience at Anna Tasca Lanza center.
Olive oil making course
This five-day course usually takes place during Sicily's olive harvest season and explores the vast world of olive oil, from production to tasting. Visitors will be taken through olive groves and guided through the process from tree to table. Visit a local olive factory and learn how to taste the quality of extra virgin olive oil. Take part in a cooking class with the main ingredient olive oil and the different ways olive oil is incorporated into Sicilian cuisine.
Cooking Course with “Wild Sicily” with Chef Gill Meller
Try going beyond the kitchen and discover the abundance of edible plants that grow naturally on the Sicilian grasslands. Visitors will be led from the natural landscape to the kitchen table, teaching techniques and recipes all inspired by green vegetables. This course is led by Gill Meller, chef, food writer and cooking teacher. Gill Meller lived near the small fishing town of Lyme Regis, in Dorset. His cooking philosophy is a reflection of his surroundings, inspired by his landscapes, his locality, and the farmers and fishermen. Gill Meller's food is always humble and unpretentious, but inspiring, beautiful, and truly delicious.
Delicious flavors in a beautiful setting inspire the senses and pique each visitor's culinary curiosity. Meals and courses from natural ingredients grown on the island together with fine wines from the Tasca D’Almerita family vineyards will provide guests with an unforgettable experience.
