The Violet Hour

icon-location1520 N Damen Ave, Chicago, IL 60622, USA
Classic New York style bar with attention to detail and fine craftsmanship.

The Violet Hour is a mix of old fashioned and modern Manhattan with cocktails made with the finest ingredients.

The Violet Hour is one of the first places to start the craft cocktail trend in Chicago, and is, of course, one of the best cocktail bars in the city. The menu includes both classic cocktails, as well as custom-made glasses with homemade bitters and hand-chilled ice cubes. In addition to cocktails, the bar also serves craft beer and wine.

From the moment it opened, the purpose of the bar was to become a place where people could chat with each other over standard cocktails. Therefore, the density of seats is relatively spacious, not too much so that even though it is crowded, it is still not too noisy.

The interior of the restaurant is luxurious with high blue-purple cornflower walls and white wall braces, lit by crystal chandeliers. Gray-blue velvet curtains form 3 auditoriums, with high-backed blue leather chairs, arranged around a small white round table. In the middle of the table is a small candle, creating a very romantic atmosphere.

When coming here, there are some "rules" visitors need to pay attention to:

- Do not use phones inside the lounge.

- Must dress properly (no cap, shorts...)

- Light beer (such as Budweiser), vodka Gray Goose, or Cosmopolitan are not sold here.
