“16 points Gault Millau – Under the direction of Chef Mark Arnold, who brought Bern the first Michelin star. Located in the park of the Bern Historical Museum, the restaurant becomes the perfect culinary highlight not only for museum-goers but also for locals.”

Steinhalle is not only a restaurant but also a place where there are many changes in the taste of cuisine to always bring newness in food and drinks to diners.

Chef Markus Arnold has 15 years of experience perfecting his craft in working with famous local and foreign bosses. Formerly head chef at Meridiano restaurant in Kursaal Bern, he brought Bern his first Michelin star and his cuisine has been awarded 17 high marks by Gault Millau several times. In September 2017, the top chef and young entrepreneur opened his first restaurant, Steinhalle. Arnold draws inspiration for his kitchen with the culinary concept of local produce and as he travels around the world.

The concept of dual gastronomy is based on customer needs. “easy lunch” and “casual dining” are introduced through Steinhalle's menu. At noon, the restaurant serves quick, light, seasonal and healthy dishes to energize for an active afternoon. In the evenings, Chef Arnold's creations are uncomplicated yet sophisticated with dishes inspired by his travels around the world.

The restaurant is usually very crowded in the evening, so it is necessary to reserve a table in advance.
