Cok Cok Restaurant was established in 2006 and quickly became the number 1 Thai restaurant in Istanbul, where diners can experience original Thai cuisine. The name Cok Cok accurately represents the diverse flavors found in each of the restaurant's dishes. The fresh spices and herbs used in the preparation of pure Thai and Southeast Asian dishes remind diners of the Silk Road that once connected Asia with Istanbul.

Cok Cok Thai in Turkish means "very Thai". The restaurant is located just off Istiklal Road bringing the lively flavors of Thailand to your plate.

Decorated with a life-size standing Buddha at the entrance, the atmosphere is warm and cozy with dim lights and wooden interiors. Jazz music is used as background music, giving the restaurant an elegant yet cozy touch.

Bekir, the owner of Cok Cok Thai restaurant, started his journey into Thai food culture while in London, where he has resided for over 15 years. Realizing the lack of options for other ethnic cuisines in Istanbul, he set out to introduce the quintessential taste of Thailand to the people of Istanbul. To do so, Bekir's restaurant sets itself apart by importing all ingredients (including seasonings and sauces) from Thailand, creating the most authentic Thai food in Turkey.

In Turkish cuisine, similar seasoning ingredients are combined to create a dish, while in Thai cuisine it is all about bringing separate elements with different flavors, combined. together to form a dish that leaves the taste buds speculating throughout the experience.

A typical Thai meal consists of four main flavors: salty, sweet, sour and spicy. In fact, in a typical dish, it is not impossible to combine two or three of these flavors at once. The complete experience of a Thai meal includes appetizers to start, some sour and spicy soup to soothe and refresh your stomach, legendary herbal curry, Jasmine rice or stir-fried noodles iconic Thai style called Pad Thai. And finally, it's time to finish off with homemade spicy ginger ice cream, a taste that's not easy to forget.

When perusing Cok Cok's menu, the first thing diners can easily realize is that Thai cuisine is very diverse. On this point, Cok Cok Thai restaurant does not disappoint its guests by offering so many attractive options that it is difficult to choose. If you've never tried Thai food before, don't worry. The menu features a wide range of starters, soups, salads, main courses, desserts and drinks, including Thai Jasmine Tea and homemade cocktails.

The restaurant's menu also offers a variety of dishes suitable for a variety of diets such as vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and low-calorie. But each item on the menu can also be adapted to these specific dietary requirements. There is a great deal of flexibility in Thai cooking, where adapting a dish for Vegetarians & Vegetarians does not necessarily detract from the taste. It only reflects the availability of ingredients, the season, and the cook's preferences.

With such an extensive selection, you might be surprised to discover two things that are not available at this restaurant - bread and knives! “In Thai culture, a knife symbolizes violence. Meanwhile, banh mi is not a typical Thai meal,” explains Bekir, owner of Cok Cok Thai.

The quality of Cok Cok Thai is certified by “Thai Select”, a program run by the Ministry of Thailand that grants Thai restaurants abroad serving authentic Thai dishes. Therefore, it is not surprising that the restaurant is the number 1 choice of international tourists when coming to Istanbul.
