The oasis in the heart of Montreal offers a tour through the five ecosystems of the Americas

Originally, the Montreal Biodome was the site of cycling and judo events during the 1976 Summer Olympics. Now, the Montreal Biodome is home to more than 250,000 animals from about 220 species of animals and 500 other species of plants. together. Here, visitors can visit and feel five distinct ecosystems from the lush, warm tropical rainforest to the harsh, cold Antarctica. It is one of the few places in the world that faithfully reproduces the complexity of the natural environment and the interactions between plants and animals.

Like other organizations, the Montreal Biodome wishes to raise individual and collective awareness of the need to participate in the protection of natural ecosystems. In the space of many different ecosystems, visitors will have an overview of the beauty, complexity and vulnerability of nature. Thereby, Montreal Biodame wants to send to everyone the message that we are all part of nature and we can do our part to protect them like we are protecting ourselves.
