Located between the Sirkeci and Sultanahmet neighborhoods of the Fatih district, Gulhane Park (Rose Garden) is one of the most beautiful parks in Istanbul according to both tourists and locals. “Gulhane” means “homeland of roses” in Turkish.

During the Byzantium period, Gulhane Park was home to a number of warehouses and military barracks. During the Ottoman era, the park served as a place of celebrations and ceremonies, as well as a Christian refuge and main garden for Topkapi Palace.

Gulhane Park was opened to the public in 1912, and in 1955 a zoo was built within the park. However, due to maintenance and care issues, the zoo was later moved to Ankara.

Today, Gulhane Park is a popular park for both tourists and locals. The park has a very large area with beautiful gardens all year round, an outdoor swimming pool and cafe with impressive views of the Bosphorus.

Guests can take a break in one of the park's outdoor cafes and enjoy the peaceful surroundings in the beautiful gardens or take in the romantic views of the nearby Bosphorus.

There is a Museum of the History of Islamic Science and Technology inside Gulhane Park, housed in a Building that was formerly a stable. This is one of the unique museums of Istanbul and the only museum in the world where visitors can learn about the development of different sciences in Islamic civilization.

The park is also home to the annual tulip festival, which takes place in the last 3 weeks of April. Tulips are very important to the Ottoman Empire and Turkish culture. To celebrate the coming spring, the annual tulip festival takes place in the city's most popular parks, such as Gulhane Park in Sirkeci, Sultanahmet Square in Sultanahmet, Yildiz Park in Besiktas, Emirgan Park in Emirgan on the European side, in Cubuklu and Beykoz Park in Beykoz on the Asian side.

This is a free festival and visitors can see billions of tulips of 120 different varieties in bloom in April, as well as a number of cultural and artistic activities held at Emirgan Park and Quang Ninh. Sultanahmet School. There is also a tulip photo contest held around this time.
