Profile
This cafe on Decatur Street in New Orleans' French Quarter began as a French Quarter market cafe in 1862. Cafe du Monde (meaning "Cafe of the World" in French, or "Cafe") of Everyone") is famous for its Beignet cake, a type of sugar donut, combined with iced milk coffee.
Sitting in the living space of the cafe, watching the street, people passing by, sipping beignet cake and coffee is an experience not to be missed. The hot, spongy beignet cake, coated with powdered sugar, served with the cafe's special cup of holly beans will make your visit to the French Quarter, or New Orleans, more full.
