“Established in 1971, it is the largest shopping center in the French-speaking part of Switzerland”

In 1971, the first large shopping center in the French-speaking part of Switzerland with a total floor area of 27,000 square meters, 40 shops and 1600 parking spaces was opened. At that time, the center had 2 owners, Migros Corporation and Grand Passage. After the Grand Passage area closed in 1996, the Migros group took the space and expanded the mall.

In 2001, the Balexert shopping center had a total floor space of 55,000 square meters with 110 shopping and service stores and the Pathé cinema. The interior at Balexert was improved in 2019 with new glass canopies built above the central lobby to meet energy standards. This new structure makes the center look brighter and more modern.

With nearly 50 years of experience in serving the shopping needs of its customers, Balexert today has 120 stores, 15 restaurants, 13 cinemas, a bowling alley and more than 2,200 parking spaces. At Balexert, guests can find fashion and cleaning brands such as Sephora, Diesel, Globus, H&M, KOOKAI, ZARA, Lush and the large supermarket Migros.

Many locals often come to Balexert for walking, entertainment or eating out as part of their daily life. Balexert has undoubtedly become one of the three most famous shopping centers in Geneva and the French-speaking part of Switzerland.
