Cat Ba Monkey Island

Monkey Island is a small island located 2km from Cat Ba town. The island has a circumference of about 3km, with two beaches: Bai Cat Dua 1 (in the East) and Cat Dua 2 (in the Southeast, where there is a resort named: Monkey Island Resort) with fine sand and smooth sand. The water is very clear, so this place attracts a lot of foreign tourists coming to swim and relax.

To get to the island, visitors have to take a boat from Beo wharf to go through Cai Beo fishing village and then go to Monkey Island. Previously, Monkey Island was also called Cat Dua Island because on the island there are mainly wild pineapple trees, the fruit of this tree is not edible, but it is brought back to dry as medicinal herbs or soaked in wine. drink.

There are currently about 30 monkeys on the island, the monkeys here are all released by humans to protect them. The monkeys here are not afraid of people, often go to the beach to play and eat food given by tourists. When feeding, visitors need to keep a safe distance to avoid the case of hyperactive monkeys grabbing the food. Coming to Monkey Island, in addition to watching the monkeys play, visitors can also swim and row a boat. The sea water here is very clear, viewed from above with a distance of 2m from the water surface to the bottom, visitors can clearly see each school of small fish swimming. Walking around the island, you will see on the right hand side of Monkey Island there is a footpath to reach the top of the mountain, this mountain peak is not too high so it will not take too long for you to conquer. Standing on the top of the mountain, visitors can have a panoramic view of the beauty of Lan Ha Bay with hundreds of large and small islands around.
