JPMorgan Chase Tower

The building was built from 1979 to 1981 with the original name "Texas Trade Tower" designed by architects IM Pei & Partners - a famous firm based in New York. The building was originally planned to be 80 stories tall, but the Federal Aviation Administration said that height would endanger air traffic at nearby William P. Hobby Airport, so the court. As a result, the glazing of the façade on this side is installed as a composite glazing system with no large panes between the panes, providing sweeping views of Houston's west side. The remainder of the block next to the tower's beveled western edge is devoted to a large outdoor public square.

The tower also includes 2000 square meters of retail space in addition to office spaces for lease. The observation deck on the 60th floor of the building is like a sky hall with a panoramic view of the city center from behind the glass.
