One of the most beautiful places in southern Nevada with a breathtaking landscape of fancy red rock canyons, towering sandstone peaks and ancient petroglyphs.

Red Rock Canyon, over 195,000 acres, was Nevada's first National Reserve and is considered a mecca that showcases the unique qualities of the Mojave Desert. This unique area is located about 24km west of downtown Las Vegas and attracts more than 3 million people every year.

In 196, the Bureau of Land Management designated 10,000 acres in the area as Red Rock Recreational Land. In 1973, the U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee on Federal Reserves held a special hearing at the Foley Federal Office Building in downtown Las Vegas to consider a legislative resolution passed by the Federal Reserve Board. Congressman David Towell (R-NV) of Nevada sponsored the creation of the Red Rock Reserve. Later, in 1990, the area was officially recognized as a National Conservation Area and was funded to maintain and protect.

Red Rock Canyon National Reserve is an area containing large ranges of red rock and sandstone formed by the thrust of the fracturing process. The mountains here are popular hiking and climbing destinations with the highest peak of up to 2,485m belonging to La Marde mountain. The reserve is one of the easternmost parts of the Mojave Desert with about 600 known species of plants and commonly found desert animals.

A 21km one-way scenic driveway allows self-drive visitors to tour the inside of the area is permitted, and parking areas allow access to many of the area's trails. There are 26 different trails and trails that take visitors from the deep canyons to the highest point of the Red Rock Canyon.

In addition to spectacular sightseeing and photo opportunities, Red Rock Canyon also offers a wide range of recreational activities: rock climbing, biking, hiking, and more.

Serious rock climbers crave the challenges of climbing Red Rock, from its towering sandstone ridges to its massive boulders. There are different routes for both beginner and advanced climbers here. However, before choosing the right route for you, visitors should check the weather because the route conditions here will not be too good because the rock features here are quite fragile and easily damaged when they get wet.

Cycling in the Red Rock Canyon National Preserve can be a fun way for visitors to see the local flora and fauna first-hand. Visitors are advised to wear helmets, check their vehicles carefully, bring enough food for the trip, and pay attention to the road to avoid danger.

If visitors are not too interested in sports activities at Red Rock Canyon National Reserve, riding in a car around the colorful rock formations will be a special experience in Las Vegas.
