Established in 2011 on the site of a former tobacco factory under Japanese rule, Songshan Cultural & Creative Park is positioned as the “Creative Center of Taipei City” where inspiring inspire and nurture the country's future artistic talents. Songshan Cultural & Creative Park is known as the largest art space in Taipei City, first built in 1937 as the Matsuyama Tobacco Factory under the management of the governor's office. Taiwan is under the Japanese government. After the Japanese left Taiwan in 1945, the factory came under the control of the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Bureau. In 1998, the factory ceased operations and the Taipei government decided to renovate it into a complex consisting of art, cultural and creative exhibition and performance areas.

With a special mission, the park is officially recognized as a place to source, nurture and nurture artistic talents, expressed through 5 areas under the following themes: Creative Lab ( Creative Lab), Creative Union, Creative School, Creative Showcase, Creative Hub. The park is the venue for important cultural and artistic events of Taiwan in various forms such as press conferences, filming, award ceremonies, symposiums, fashion shows, etc. Heritage features Taiwan's culture and art are presented subtly and vividly in a unique space with 3 separate parts: exhibition hall, art program room and conference space. Visitors can take the time to explore each area and experience the distinctive features in the designs that blend classic and modern touches. The exhibition hall is a place to display images of Taiwan's culture and creative art through the periods, helping visitors better understand the process of forming and developing art of this island nation. The fusion of tradition and contemporary in an enchanting artistic and cultural space is what attracts tourists from all over the world.

All the galleries and souvenir shops are located on the grounds of the old tobacco factory, with high historical value. Right in the center is a spacious and airy Baroque flower garden. When the old tobacco factory was still in operation, it was used as an employee motel, food storage, as well as a school and daycare. Now, the areas have been renovated to serve art display functions, but still retain the vestiges of Taipei's time when it was occupied by Japan. Outside the factory is a large lake, surrounded by a lot of trees, creating a green ecosystem with wild animals, creating a peaceful and gentle feeling for visitors.

The park is open weekdays from 09.00AM to 06.00PM, no entrance fee. The public transportation system in Taiwan is very developed, so visitors can easily visit Songshan Cultural & Creative Park by bus or subway.
