Thu Le Park - Zoo is located in Ba Dinh district, Hanoi city, surrounded by a large lake. Its original name comes from an oval-shaped land resembling a teardrop. Thu Le Park was built on May 19, 1975 and opened to visitors in 1977. The park is famous for its recreational activities and green space for thousands of domestic and international visitors to come. visit. It has a total area of 29 hectares including 6 hectares of lakes, 5 exhibition areas and 40 houses of animals. Thu Le Park is an ideal place to visit on foot because it is surrounded by green lawns and a collection of small trees and flowers. As a result, the park offers visitors a relaxing view as well as fresh air and beautiful scenery.
With five exhibition areas, the zoo currently has 40 animal houses with more than 600 animals of more than 100 species. In which, there are 40 species listed in the Red Book of Vietnam and many species are gifts from Europe, Africa, America and Australia. Some of the rare animals being preserved here are tigers, lions, leopards, elephants and Indochinese hippos.
Besides visiting the scenery and animals, visitors can also participate in energetic outdoor activities in the park or exciting games such as speedboats, bubble houses or rollerblading. The most interesting thing is to ride the swan boat along the 6-hectare lake where you can have a private and romantic time.
The best time to visit the Zoo is during the summer as the animals here tend to go out and bask in the sun more often in the summer.
In addition, you can visit Voi Phuc Temple located next to Thu Le Park. The pagoda is among the Thang Long Tu Tran which is one of the famous historical heritages in Hanoi. This place worships Linh Lang (a famous hero of Vietnam) who helped the king take care of the peace in the west of Vietnam.
