Gazzo founders Mikael Andersen and Robert Szabo (Germany) founded one of Berlin's best pizzerias because they believed pizza was the ideal way to deliver a delicious meal without paying too much for it. majority. Andersen is the inventor of Gazzo, a Norwegian restaurant consultant and chef with a passion for baking and sourdough. Szabo, with an eccentric but attractive personality, brings his experience in hotel and fine dining restaurants to perfect Gazzo's service.
Located in the north of the Neuköln district bordering the Kreuzberg district. Gazzo attracts with its seemingly impromptu style collection that includes vintage furniture, bare brick walls, stone floors, parquet, pop-art paintings, street-art pages and some Italian postcards. Because there is no table reservation policy, diners wait in line every day, all because of a new taste of pizza that is mentioned by many people.
Gazzo's sourdough pizza is a pie with a 2-4cm thick crust, with a distinct crunch and a hint of sourdough, it's not too crispy or too soft. The dough is fermented for 48 hours, twice as long as usual and using a mixture of Italian and German flours before being baked in a Neapolitan electric oven at 400 degrees Celsius for 90 seconds.
For the red pizza, the legendary “red buffalo” with spicy salami, chili and pimientos de padron (a quality condiment from the burrata); or Schwäbisch-Hällisches with ham, oyster mushrooms, buffalo ricotta, mozzarella and thyme. Burrata, ricotta and mozzarella are sourced from a local farm in Brandenburg, so the ingredients at Gazzo are always fresh and of good quality.
For white pizza, try pizza with zucchini (zucchini), feta cheese, mozzarella, lemon and garlic; or pizza with pumpkin, bacon, ricotta and mozzarella.
Gazzo is not only a pizza place but it also has a very special dessert "Buffalo Milk Soft Serve", fresh cream soaked in olive oil and salt and pepper, served with shortbread.
